Learning through Play in P2!

16th Jun 2026
Our P2 children have been enjoying our topic, 'Into the Garden", through a range of exciting indoor and outdoor play experiences.

Indoors, the children used lego to design and build their own beanstalks, inspired by stories and discussions about plants growing tall. They showed wonderful creativity and problem-solving skills as they carefully selected pieces and experimented with different designs to make their beanstalks stand strong.

In our creative area, the children used playdough to make beautiful flowers and petals . They rolled, stretched and shaped the dough, developing their fine motor skills while discussing the different colours and parts of flowers found in the garden.

Outdoors, the mud kitchen became a busy garden cafe! The children collected natural materials such as leaves, petals and twigs to create their own imaginative soups and recipes. They enjoyed mixing, pouring and serving their creations while developing their communication, social and imaginative play skills.
