Food Glorious Food!

23rd Mar 2026

In Literacy, Primary 2 had lots of fun this week with Supertato! We read the story of Supertato and made predictions about whether or not Evil Pea was going to hurt the vegetables. We then made Supertato using pipe cleaners and black tape and completed a piece of instructional writing on this.

Primary 2 found Mr Carrot hanging from their classroom door and thought Evil Pea had returned. We looked for clues around our classroom to find out who put Mr Carrot on our door and discovered it wasn't Evil Pea but Evil Broccoli instead.

In World Around Us, as part of our topic Food Glorious Food, we looked at the story of milk and how it goes from cow to shop. Later we had some exciting visitors come in to our school grounds to talk about the importance of cows and milk. We have also discussed foods we like and dislike as well as the different food groups that make up a healthy diet.

In ICT we have been making food faces and looking at artwork created by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, an Italian painter who was famous for making faces using food.

Primary 2 have had such a lovely half term learning about Food Glorious Food!
